HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION?
You've closed on your house with Monarch Title, but have questions about your homestead exemption?
Are you interested in claiming the homestead exemption for your new property? If this is your primary residence in Louisiana, you can apply for a homestead exemption which provides that the first $75,000.00 of value of your home will not be subject to property taxes. Each assessor requires different documents, but those documents often include your state issued photo identification reflecting the property as your home address, the copy of your Cash Sale that is enclosed, and an unopened bill for electric service or telecommunications service.
The assessor requires you to appear in person to claim the homestead exemption, but if you have all of the correct documents, it should be a quick process.
